ON ARRIVAL AT BANDARANAIKE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (BIA)

On arrival, at airport our representative will welcome and greet you with typical Sri Lankan warmth and hospitality and after that you will be taken to our Airport Transit Office where you could relax and enjoy free Cup of Ceylon Tea or Coffee with some refreshment and you could use free Internet facilities as well. Also you will discuss and customise your tour with our representative and your driver at this stage. You will be provided a Free Pay As you Go SIM card with widest mobile network in Sri Lanka to keep throughout your tour.

Day 1

Airport Anuradapura via Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage

Leave the office and set off to explore the remnants of the ancient civilizations and Cultural Heritage of Sri Lanka
Leave for Anuradapura via Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage the world's biggest herd of domestic elephants about 90 in all ages including baby elephants and this is a very exciting site for tourists. This has existed since 1975 and primarily designed to afford protection to the many baby elephants found in the jungle without their mothers. You can see the bottle feeding for baby elephants and elephant bath in the "Maa oya" river.
After that you will proceed to Anuradapura the first capital of ancient Sri Lanka.

Day 2 Morning

Anuradapura Sigiriya

After breakfast will do the City Tour. Anuradapura which is a UNESCO world Heritage site and the First Kingdom of Sri Lanka under the king Pandukabaya in 377BC. You will visit many heritage sites in Anuradapaya and out of those following sites are very important. Eight Great Places of Veneration in Anuradhapura called Atamasthana.

Sri Maha Bodhiya (Sacred Boo Tree)- with an authenticated history of more than 2300 years which has been planted from a sapling from the original tree under which Lord Buddha attained enlightenment, Ruwanwelisaya- the largest stupa in the island, Jethawanaramaya and Abayagiriya- which is their original form had been equivalent in size to the Great Pyramids in Giza, Thuparamaya – the first stupa built in Sri Lanka, Samadhi Statue – meditating posture of Lord Buddha made out of granite, Isurumuniya – the first Buddhist temple. Lovamahapaya- Originally 9 storied building, Kuttam Pokuna and Cultural Museum.
After that you will leave for Sigiriya.

Day 2 Afternoon

In the afternoon you will climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress the eight world heritage site of Sri Lanka which is surrounded by remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs and other structures. This is a very popular tourist destination where you can see beautiful paintings (frescos), The Mirror Wall, The garden and water works, Lion Mouth and Top of the rock with the ruins of the palace.
In the evening undertake an Elephant Back Safari in to the dry zone jungles, crossing a water ways.

Day 3 Morning

Sigiriya Polonnaruwa

After breakfast you will proceed to Polonnaruwa, which is a UNESCO world heritage site and the second capital city of Sri Lanka under the King Vijayabahu-1 in 1070. But the real "Hero of Polonnaruwa" of the history books is actually his grandson, "Parakramabahu I". The greatest irrigation system is the Parakrama Samudraya (reservoir) where it is impossible to stand upon one shore and view the other side. You will visit many sites of archaeological and historical interest in the sacred city of Polonnaruwa including the Royal Palace, Vatdage, Siva Devalaya, Gal Viharaya, Kumara and Lotus Ponds, Thuparamaya, Rankoth Vehera, Pabalu Vehera, Thiwanka Image House, The Museam, Statue of King Parakramabahu and remaining Ruins at Polonnaruwa which are adding a proud heritage to the country.

Pop in to wood Carving Factory to see the skills of Sri Lankan craftsmen.

Day 3 Afternoon

Polonnaruwa Sigiriya via Minneriya National Park

Once you finish site seen at Polonnaruwa will proceed to Minneriya National Park where you can see Elephants, Leopards, Samba Deer, different kind of Monkeys and other Wild animals. Minneriya Reservoir inside the park creates a fabulous seen and adds colour to the park and it is important habitat for large water birds, other birds and amphibious animals. You will enjoy the time with wild life at this park.

Day 4

SigiriyaKandy via Dumbulla and Matale

After breakfast you will start your excursion towards Kandy Via Dambulla and Matale. At Dambulla you will climb Rock Cave Temple and Golden Temple which have collection of five caves of different sizes of paintings, sculptures, statues of Lord Buddha, Kings, and Gods. This is considered to be the largest painted caves in the world and declared as a world heritage site.

After that you will proceed to Kandy via Matale Alu Viharaya Temple which is the historic location where the Pali Canon was first written down completely in text on ola (palm) leaves. Numerous monastery caves are situated near Aluviharaya, some of which exhibit fine frescoes.

After having seen this temple visit Matale Spice Garden and then proceed to Kandy. In the afternoon you will do the Kandy City Tour and watch Traditional Cultural Dance Performance which impresses every one.

Day 5

Kandy Nuwara Eliya via Botanical Garden

After breakfast you will proceed to Nuwara Eliya –famous as "Little England" via Royal Botanical Garden - Peradeniya which is the largest Botanical Garden in Sri Lanka where you will experience exciting landscape and more than 5000 species of different varieties of flora.

After that you will be heading towards Nuwara Eliya through the Ramboda pass surrounded by "Green Carpets"- hill covered with tea and beautiful waterfalls .En route visit a Tea Factory and Tea Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world famous "Ceylon Tea" and to taste a pure cup of factory fresh tea. Visit “Hanuman Temple" on the way to Nuwara Eliya.
In the evening free walk/tour around the city and visit Victoria Park , Gregory Lake, Golf Course and Market etc. Nature lovers could make a visit the Lovers Leap Water Falls just outside the city which will involve a little bit of hiking for 1 hour both ways.

Day 6

Nuwara EliyaHorton Plains Hakgala Gardens Nuwara Eliya

After early breakfast proceeds to Horton Plains National Park and Worlds End are a beautiful, silent, strange world with some excellent hikes in the shadow of Sri Lanka’s second and third highest mountains. This is the only national park situated in the hill country 200 km away from Colombo where visitors can walk on their own. Panoramic scenic beauty of hill country could be witnessed with in the park. Walk to the famous World’s End is 4km, but trial loop back to Bakers Falls 2km and continues back to entrance 3.5km. The round trip is 9.5 km and takes approximately three hours. This is a very exciting and wonderful experience for all.
On the way back visit Hakgala Botanical Gardens where you can see beautiful flower and different types of flora with magnificent landscape.

Day 7

Nuwara Eliya Udawalawe

After early breakfast proceed to Udawalawa National Park where you can see elephants, leopards, Samba deer, different kind of Monkeys and other wild animals. Udawalawa Reservoir inside the park creates picturesque seen and adds colour to the park. Udawalawa is important habitat for large water birds, other birds and amphibious animals.
Also visit the Elephant Transit Home- where stranded baby elephants are being looked after with the objective of sending them back in to the jungle – as an effort for conservation.

Day 8

Udawalawe Airport via Colombo

After the breakfast you will proceed to Colombo the biggest city in Sri Lanka and will do the Colombo City Tour and Shopping. While on city tour you will visit Gangarama Temple, Seema Malakaya, Hindu Kovils, Bandaranayike Memorial International Conference Hall, Independence Memorial Hall, National Museum, Viharamadevi Park, Nelum Pokun Mahinda Rajapaksha Theatre. Finally you will reach Gall Face Green where you can enjoy the sunset at Colombo and then transfer to airport for departure.
